Jimmy Wyble was an American jazz musician born on January 25, 1922, in Port Arthur, Texas. He began playing guitar at age 13 and initially played in country bands before joining the Bob Wills Texas Playboys in 1944. Wyble developed an interest in jazz and recorded his first album as a bandleader in 1953. He was associated with notable musicians like Barney Kessel and Red Norvo, performing until 1965. Post his time with Norvo, he focused on studio work and teaching, becoming known for his educational contributions and for mentoring famous guitarist Steve Lukather. He passed away on January 16, 2010, in Altadena, California.
