Jiří Smetana was a Czech musician, composer, and music producer, born on December 16, 1945, in Prague. He gained fame for writing the lyrics to 'Slunečný hrob' for the band Blue Effect. Smetana lived in France from 1972, where he worked as a DJ and artistic director in the Gibus rock club. He collaborated with global pop stars, including Sting and The Police, and managed singer Věra Bíla and her band Kale. He faced health issues starting in 2014, resulting in a coma for 1.5 years before passing away on December 24, 2016, in Prague.
