Jirō Okazaki is a Japanese manga artist born on March 9, 1957, in Nishinomiya, Hyōgo Prefecture. He graduated from Tama Art University with a degree in design in 1980. After working at an advertising agency, he made his debut as a freelance manga artist in 1986 when his work 'Buddha Descends' won an honorable mention at the Big Comic Awards. In 2023, he launched his own website to showcase new works of manga.
