Jitendra Prasada was an influential Indian politician who served as the vice-president of the Indian National Congress. He acted as a political advisor to two prominent Indian prime ministers, Rajiv Gandhi and P. V. Narasimha Rao. Prasada notably contested the Congress Party's presidential election against Sonia Gandhi in 2000 but was unsuccessful. His political career was marked by significant contributions until his untimely death on 16 January 2001 due to a cerebral haemorrhage in New Delhi.
