He is a key figure in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and has held the role of chief spokesperson for Jammu and Kashmir. Singh was elected to the 18th Lok Sabha from Udhampur, securing a significant majority. He previously won the Udhampur seat in the 2014 and 2019 Indian general elections, achieving the highest margins in both the 16th and 17th Lok Sabha.
