Joanne Lesley Palmer (born 10 April 1971) is an Australian politician and former television journalist. Born in Christchurch, New Zealand, she was adopted by an Australian family and moved to Tasmania. Palmer was formerly Miss Tasmania and was awarded Miss Australia in 1993. She worked for 18 years as a journalist and newsreader at 7 Tasmania. In 2020, she was elected to the Tasmanian Legislative Council for the Liberal Party and became a minister in 2022, overseeing Primary Industries, Water, Disability Services, and Women.
