He earned an honorary mention upon completing his elementary clarinet studies in 1979. Apart from clarinet, he was a pianist and participated in the 1980 International Contemporary Music Festival. Devesa also had an interest in jazz, performing at the Jazz Days in Barcelona in 1980, and was involved in chamber music concerts across various Catalan locations.
