Joan Pavelich is a former Canadian discus thrower and shot putter, born on May 28, 1953. She achieved notable success in her athletic career, finishing fifth in discus and seventh in shot put at the 1970 British Commonwealth Games. At the 1971 Pan American Games, she placed fourth in discus and seventh in shot put. She won a silver medal in discus at the 1973 Pacific Conference Games and was crowned Canadian champion in shot put in 1969 and 1972. Her personal bests include 53.02 m in discus and 14.60 m in shot put.
