Joan Subirà i Rocamora was a Catalan Catholic priest and journalist, born on February 3, 1930, in Vic, and died on December 26, 2017, in Barcelona. Known as 'en Subi' and pseudonymously as Guillem del món, he became a pioneer of Catalan journalism post-Franco. He founded the Sagrada Família parish in Mataró in 1965 and worked at the newspaper Avui from 1976 until 1995. He published several books focused on the Catalan language and priesthood, emphasizing his commitment to social issues, including immigration, throughout his career.
