Joan Torra i Bitlloch, born on March 7, 1954, in Manresa, Bages, is a Catalan priest within the Diocese of Vic. He was ordained a deacon on December 21, 1980, and later became a priest on April 25, 1982. He served as the episcopal vicar and was the dean of the Faculty of Theology of Catalonia from 2019 until May 9, 2024. Torra holds degrees in Theology and completed his doctorate in Dogmatic Theology in 2017. Since 1999, he has been a professor in various theological subjects and served as director of the Institut Superior de Ciències Religioses de Vic from 2004 to 2008.
