Joan Vila i Dilmé, born on September 26, 1965, in Castellfollit de la Roca, is a Catalan caretaker and serial killer known as the 'Angel of Death' or 'the caretaker of Olot.' He confessed to eleven murders of elderly patients aged 80 to 96 at a nursing home between August 2009 and October 2010. In 2014, he was sentenced to 127 years and six months in prison by the Spanish Supreme Court for multiple gerontocide using brutal techniques to agonize his victims, marking him as one of Spain's deadliest criminals.
