Her first book, 'A Friend Is Someone Who Likes You,' was recognized as one of the New York Times Best Illustrated Children's Books. Over her prolific career, she published more than 120 titles and sold over 45 million copies worldwide by 2014. Anglund is also noted for a quote in her poetry that was mistakenly attributed to Maya Angelou during a commemorative stamp issue. She was born on January 3, 1926, and passed away on March 9, 2021.
