João Miguel Mohana was a Brazilian priest, doctor, and writer born on June 15, 1925, in Bacabal, Brazil. He studied medicine at the Federal University of Bahia. Mohana published his first novel, 'O Outro Caminho,' in 1952, for which he won the Coelho Neto Prize. Despite being forced to pursue medicine, he became a priest after studying at the Viamão Seminary and was ordained in 1960. He was a member of the Academia Maranhense de Letras and authored numerous works, including novels and plays, with some translated into English and Spanish.
