Joaquín Achúcarro, born on November 1, 1937, is a Spanish classical pianist from Bilbao. Despite earning a degree in physics, he dedicated himself to music, studying at the Academy of Arts in Siena, Italy. He gained international recognition in 1959, winning four prizes at a piano competition and subsequently launching his career with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. Achúcarro has performed with many prestigious orchestras across 58 countries and collaborated with renowned conductors. He was awarded the Gold Medal for Fine Arts by King Juan Carlos of Spain in 1996.
