Joaquín Nogueras y Márquez was a Spanish Andalusian military officer and Olympic athlete, born in Úbeda on December 8, 1906. He graduated from the Academy of Infantry in Toledo and fought in the Spanish Civil War on the national side. He was a member of the Spanish Olympic equestrian team, winning a diploma for placing fifth in individual eventing at the 1948 Summer Olympics and competed again in 1952 and 1956. He served in various military roles, including Captain General of Catalonia and president of the Spanish Equestrian Federation, until his death on April 1, 1991.
