Joar Rørmark is a Norwegian conductor and music teacher born on March 9, 1935, in Harstad. He served as a music methodology lecturer at the Norwegian Academy of Music, established in 1972. From 1963 to 1976, he was the second conductor of Nordstrand Musikkselskaps kor. He succeeded Tor Skauge as conductor for Oslo Ungdomskor in 1973 and founded Vinderen barnekor in 1977. In 1987, he co-founded and directed the award-winning Norges ungdomskor. Additionally, he started Nordisk Kor in Oslo, and both he and his wife conducted Oslo Nye Ungdomskor in the early 1990s.
