Jodeen Terese Carney (born 9 December 1965) is an influential Australian politician and member of the Country Liberal Party. She served in the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly from September 2001 to September 2010, representing Araluen. Carney held several key positions, including Shadow Attorney-General and Opposition Leader until January 2008. As an openly lesbian politician, she made history as the first LGBT member of her party in the Assembly and the first female leader of the Country Liberal Party. Carney resigned from parliament in September 2010 due to health issues.
