Joseph Walker Carroll, born on May 29, 1950, is a former American football linebacker. He played in the NFL for the Oakland Raiders from 1972 to 1973. Carroll was a standout player in high school, making the All-Ohio UPI defensive team. He continued his football career at Pitt, where he became a starting linebacker before an injury sidelined him. He was selected in the 11th round of the 1972 NFL Draft, being the only college player from Pennsylvania picked that year. His time with the Raiders ended in September 1974.
