Joseph R. Ciampi, born on September 25, 1946, is a retired American basketball coach. He began coaching boys basketball before transitioning to women's basketball, leading the Army Black Knights and later the Auburn Tigers. His Auburn teams reached the NCAA tournament finals three times between 1988 and 1990. Ciampi achieved 607 wins and was among the top 15 Division I coaches for total wins in the mid-2000s. After a brief career in sports commentary, he returned as an assistant for the Atlanta Dream. He was inducted into prestigious sports halls of fame.
