Joe Flexer (1933–2000) was a Canadian trade unionist and communist activist born in Brooklyn. Actively involved in various socialist movements, he immigrated to Israel before moving to Canada in the 1960s. Flexer protested the Vietnam War, joined the New Democratic Party, and later formed the Cecil-Ross Society. He played a key role in the workers’ education initiative within the Canadian Auto Workers union. His political journey included affiliations with multiple leftist organizations. Despite health issues later in life, he remained politically active until his death in Toronto.
