Joseph Eason Wroten (1925-2005) was an American lawyer and politician from Mississippi, known for his progressive stance during a time of racial segregation. He served in the Mississippi House of Representatives from 1952 to 1963, opposing discriminatory policies. Wroten was active in the civil rights movement, including as chairman of a racially integrated committee at the 1968 Democratic convention. A Navy veteran and Eagle Scout, he was also a judge and later served as Clerk of Court for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court until his death.
