He changed his name in 2023 to Jay-Z Jael Martinus while on the run in Brazil. He owns the football club SV Notch in Moengo and performs live and through social media as a rapper. In France, he was sentenced in absentia to eight years in prison for his role in cocaine smuggling to French Guiana. He served as youth chairman for the ABOP political party and was vice-chairman from 2019 to 2020.
