Joel David Rifkin, born on January 20, 1959, is an American serial killer. In 1994, he was sentenced to 203 years in prison for the murder of nine women between 1989 and 1993. He is believed to have killed up to 17 victims during this period in New York City and Long Island. Although he frequently hired sex workers in Brooklyn and Manhattan, he lived in East Meadow, a suburban village in Long Island. Experts suspect his involvement in victims found in 2011, previously linked to the Gilgo Beach Killer.
