Joey Maramba is a Filipino bassist born on March 8, 1974, in Manila. Coming from a musical family, he has a pianist mother, Vilma Posadas, and a brother, John Paul Maramba, who is also a bassist. He moved to the USA in 1982 and received his first bass guitar as a Christmas gift in 1986. In the 1990s, he formed the band HiddeN with a schoolmate. Maramba is part of the instrumental duo Ninja Academy and has collaborated with artists such as Rickie Lee Jones and John Cale.
