Her debut album, 'Hetki hiljaa,' was released in 2005. Kurkela drew significant attention during the Finnish selection for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 with her song 'Olet uneni kaunein,' finishing sixth. Shortly after, she released her second album, 'Marmoritaivas,' and contributed to Sonata Arctica's album 'The Days of Grays.' Her 2010 album, 'Hyvästi, Dolores Haze,' sold over 20,000 copies.
