Johannes Farestveit was a Norwegian translator, children's book author, comic creator, and editor. He took over as editor of Norwegian Children's Magazine (Norsk Barneblad) in 1956 and managed it until 1979. Farestveit turned the publishing section of Norsk Barneblad into a significant publisher of Nynorsk children's books, translating several children's books from English. He contributed texts to the magazine, including Smørbukk and Tuss og Troll.
