John A. Betti is an American politician and corporate executive born on January 6, 1931, in Ottawa. He served as Executive Vice President at Ford Motor Company and was the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition under President George H. W. Bush. His career began at Chrysler in 1952, where he contributed to the design of the Valiant. Betti later became chief engineer for trucks at Ford and directed the design of popular models, before his appointment to the Department of Defense, dealing with research, procurement, and logistics.
