In 1964, he began his career as a Gaelic broadcaster in Glasgow. In 1972, he moved to Canada to work in public relations. He returned to Scotland in the 1990s and became the deputy director of the Gaelic Broadcasting Committee. He passed away in Cape Breton in 2017.
