John Anderson (January 31, 1921 – August 18, 1974) was an American jazz trumpeter known for his work in the swing genre. He studied the alto horn and tuba, performing with prominent musicians and big bands, including Benny Carter and Count Basie. In addition to his own band in Los Angeles, he contributed to numerous recordings in jazz and rhythm and blues throughout the 1950s and 60s, collaborating with artists like Anita O'Day and Rick Nelson. His only album as a leader was 'Time Will Tell', released in 1966.
