John Armatage, born on 5 August 1929, is an accomplished English jazz swing drummer and arranger. He began his professional career in 1957, performing with John Chilton and later collaborating with Bruce Turner, with whom he recorded, toured, and appeared in the film Living Jazz (1962). Throughout his career, Armatage has played alongside several notable artists, including Pete Allen and Terry Lightfoot. He is also known for his collaborative work with jazz musician Pee Wee Russell.
