John Ausonius, born Wolfgang Alexander Zaugg on July 12, 1953, in Lidingö, is known for a series of racially motivated attacks from August 1991 to January 1992 in Stockholm and Uppsala. These incidents resulted in the death of one man, nine attempted murders, and nine robberies. Media dubbed him 'The Laser Man' due to his use of a gun equipped with a laser sight. The investigation into his attacks became the largest since the assassination of Olof Palme. He was arrested on June 12, 1992, and sentenced to life imprisonment in January 1994.
