John Martin Bonfield was a British trade unionist born on 1 May 1915. He began his career as a printer and quickly rose within the Typographical Association, becoming National Assistant Secretary, General President, and General Secretary. He played a crucial role in merging the Typographical Association with the London Typographical Society, leading to the formation of the National Graphical Association. Bonfield also held positions in the International Graphical Federation and was involved in the Eastern Electricity Board. He passed away on 9 January 1976.
