John Burton (1903–1973) was an English professional golfer known for his achievements in the 1930s and 1950s. He won notable tournaments including the 1933 Penfold-Porthcawl Tournament and the 1949 Penfold Tournament. As the older brother of Open Championship winner Dick Burton, he had a successful career, including a second-place finish at the News Chronicle Tournament in 1946. He achieved a significant milestone in 1957 by winning the inaugural PGA Seniors Championship. The Liverpool Golf Alliance commemorates his legacy through the 'John Burton Trophy', established in 1974 after his passing.
