John Calvin Jureit (July 24, 1918 – September 9, 2005) was a civil engineer known for inventing the Gang Nail connector plate, which revolutionized building construction by improving the joining of timber truss joints in roofs, floors, and wall panels. His invention significantly contributed to the growth of affordable housing, enhanced construction productivity, and durability. Jureit was a founding member and the first president of the Truss Plate Institute (TPI) and led Automated Building Components, Inc. to become a publicly traded global leader in truss plate manufacturing and engineering.
