He was sentenced to life imprisonment on May 26, 2011, for the double murders of siblings Richard and Helen Thomas in 1985, and Peter and Gwenda Dixon in 1989. Additionally, he was convicted of sexual assault in March 1996. Cooper had a history of prior offenses, including robbery and violent attacks. His capture was aided by advances in forensic science, leading to his arrest in May 2009 and subsequent conviction.
