John Correnti was an American steel manager born on April 1, 1947, in Mount Morris, New York. He began his career at US Steel from 1969 to 1980 before joining Nucor, where he became CEO in 1996. He resigned from Nucor in 1999 and worked at Birmingham Steel before building the Severstal plant in Mississippi from 2005 to 2008. His last project was the construction of the Big River Steel plant in Arkansas, which was completed in 2016.
