John Bruce Dods, born on December 10, 1948, in Plainfield, New Jersey, is an American filmmaker and make-up artist recognized for his expertise in prosthetic make-up effects in film and theater. Known for designing facial appliances for Disney's Beauty and the Beast, he began as an amateur filmmaker creating stop-motion animation models. Dods advanced to become a mask and monster maker in several 1980s horror films. He also worked as a make-up artist for various feature films and as an effects supervisor for the television series Monsters.
