John Dominic Crossan (born 1934 in Ireland) is an Irish-American scholar known for founding the Jesus Seminar with Robert Funk. He is a pioneer in biblical archaeology, anthropology, higher criticism, and textual criticism of the New Testament. Crossan has lectured and participated in several documentary programs about Jesus and the Bible.
