John F. Mulholland Jr. is a retired Lieutenant General of the United States Army born in 1955 in Clovis, New Mexico. He commanded the United States Army Special Operations Command and served in various capacities within Special Forces. After joining the Army through the ROTC program at Furman University in 1978, he climbed the ranks, commanding numerous units and operations in both Afghanistan and Iraq. Following his retirement in 2016, he established Mulholland Consulting, LLC. Despite facing allegations of misconduct, his career continued without apparent negative impact.
