John Fenton (born 11 December 1955) is a former Irish hurler who played predominantly as a midfielder and forward for the Cork senior team. He started hurling during his education at Midleton CBS and made his debut for the Cork minor team at 17. Fenton achieved significant success, winning two All-Ireland medals, seven Munster medals, and being named an All-Star five times. Captaining the All-Ireland-winning team in 1984, he is celebrated as one of the greatest hurlers, earning recognition as one of the 125 greatest hurlers of all time in 2009.
