John Alexander Ferguson (1903-1969) was a significant Australian politician and Labor Party member, born near Glen Innes. He worked in brass and jewellery before joining the railways in 1926. Ferguson was a dedicated member of the Australian Railways Union from 1935, later serving as state secretary and labor member of the New South Wales Legislative Council. He held key positions in the New South Wales Labor Party and resigned in 1952 to become chairman of the New South Wales Milk Board. He passed away in Lane Cove in 1969.
