John FitzSimons is a former British javelin thrower born on February 12, 1943. He excelled in athletics, winning a gold medal for England at the 1966 British Empire and Commonwealth Games held in Kingston. FitzSimons also competed at the 1969 European Athletics Championships in Budapest but did not advance past qualification. He earned a bronze medal at the 1970 British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh. FitzSimons was the English champion in 1964 and achieved a personal best of 81.92 meters on March 23, 1969, in Long Beach.
