John Stuart Hinton Gaskain, CBE, OStJ, QPM (1910-1971) was a prominent British police officer and barrister. He served as Commandant of the National Police College from 1966 to 1968. His career included roles as Assistant Chief Constable of Norfolk Police, Chief Constable of Cumberland and Westmorland, and Chief Constable of Gloucestershire. He joined the Metropolitan Police in 1936, became a qualified barrister in 1944, and later joined Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary in 1962.
