John Gilgun (1935–2021) was an American writer, renowned for his novel 'Music I Never Dreamed Of' (1989), which was nominated for the Lambda Literary Award for Gay Fiction. His works include poetry collections like 'The Dooley Poems' and 'In the Zone: The Moby Dick Poems,' as well as the short story collection 'Your Buddy Misses You.' A graduate of Boston University and the University of Iowa, he taught English and creative writing at Missouri Western State University until his retirement in 2000.
