He played for the New Jersey Pride in Major League Lacrosse and had a distinguished college career at Syracuse University, serving as team captain twice and earning All-American honors three times. Glatzel was instrumental in leading the Syracuse Orangemen to the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship in 2000 and 2002 and received the William C. Schmeisser Award in 2002 as the top NCAA lacrosse defenseman. He was also part of the US national team that won gold in 2002.
