John Dyson Harrowfield, born on February 19, 1953, is a former Australian politician from Melbourne. He served as a member of the Labor Party and was first elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly for Mitcham in 1982. Harrowfield held several ministerial roles, including Minister for Small Business and Minister for Finance. He lost his seat in 1992 and transitioned to work as a public policy researcher and consultant. Prior to his political career, he was an accountant and economics tutor, holding positions at local universities and institutes.
