John Gordon Thorne Jackett was an Australian politician and Liberal member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly for Burwood from 1965 to 1978. Born in Unley, South Australia, he was educated at The King's School in Parramatta and later joined his family business. He served in the AIF during World War II and was elected to Burwood Council in 1953. Jackett was elected to the state parliament after defeating the sitting member. He served four terms before losing to a Labor candidate in 1978 and passed away in Sydney in 2003.
