John Jenkins is an American football coach and former player known for his role as the head coach at the University of Houston from 1990 to 1992, where he achieved an 18–15 record. He is a proponent of the run and shoot offense and has coached in various leagues, including the USFL, CFL, and FXFL. Notably, he served as the head coach for the Ottawa Renegades in 2006 and the Blacktips in 2014. Throughout his coaching career, Jenkins has mentored several prominent quarterbacks, including Andre Ware and Jim Kelly.
