Sir John Southwood Jennings is a British geologist born on March 30, 1937. He served as Chancellor of Loughborough University and was Chairman of Shell Transport and Trading from 1993 to 1997, holding a directorship until 2001. Jennings was educated at Birmingham University and has a BSc in Geology and a PhD. He joined Shell in 1968, becoming Managing Director of Royal Dutch Shell Group from 1987 to 1997. He was knighted in 1997 and retired from the Chancellorship of Loughborough University in July 2010.
