John Linley Frazier was an American murderer, known as one of the 'Hippie killers' during the same period as Herbert Mullin and Edmund Emil Kemper in Santa Cruz. On October 19, 1970, he killed ophthalmologist Victor Ohta, his wife, two sons, and a secretary. Four days later, he was arrested and on November 29, 1971, he was sentenced to death by gas chamber. After California abolished the death penalty in 1972, his sentence was commuted to life imprisonment. Frazier committed suicide in prison in Ione, California in 2009.
